What are E-Bikes?

E-Bikes have pedals and are power-assisted by an auxiliary electric battery (48v) powered motor. Halls Gap E-Bike Hire uses Ibosa E-Bikes (D.O.T.A.R.S. Approval 34814/2 Section 17a Motor Vehicle Standards Act). Each bike has a 200-watt motor meeting the requirements of Victorian Government Regulations.

Do I require a license?

A license is not required to ride an E-Bike, however, you must comply with Victorian Bicycle Road Rules.

Are helmets provided?

Helmets are provided and, by law, must be worn by all riders.

Can I hire a push bike for a day or more?

There is a maximum hire period of two hours for push bicycles, enough time to give you the opportunity to ride the length of Halls Gap’s shared bike path.

Are child seats available for push bikes

Yes

Do I need to book?

Bookings are not required.

Do you have Public Liability Insurance?

Halls Gap E-Bike Hire holds Public Liability Insurance with Insurance Australia Limited T/A CGU Insurance.
